Happy Birthday to Our National Anthem

It is an indelible reminder of our freedom, inspired by terrifying attacks on American soils during the War of 1812. Penned by Francis Scott Key at Fort McHenry in Baltimore — after 25 hours of bombardment from exploding 200-pound shells —"The Star Spangled Banner" began as a tribute poem chronicling our young nation’s determination.

On March 3rd, 1931, President Hoover signed into law a Congressional Act designating it as our official National Anthem.

Today, we still honor those immortal words during our daily salute to the flag at noon in every MISSION BBQ location. When we stand in unison, hands on hearts, they stand for enduring strength. Let us All Rise together.
