Making it Matter in Nashville: An Amazing First Year

To all who welcomed us when we first opened our Opry Mills location, thank you! And to everyone who supported our fundraising efforts for uniformed American Heroes, we are especially grateful. Your generosity humbles us. Among the many highlights:

  • Celebrating the birthdays of WWII veterans Wilbur Wright and Rudy Caduff. Partnering with the USO and Grand Old Opry, we were privileged to treat Our Heroes to dinner before an exceptional show on May 24, 2016.
  • In August, we also celebrated the Coast Guard’s 226th Birthday. If our restaurant walls could talk, they’d speak volumes about the specially donated Life Ring signed by all active area members.
  • On Labor Day, we had the honor to feed our veterans at Hero Hunt, the nonprofit charity helping members of the military, police, firefighters and first responders injured in the line of duty.
  • Marine Week found us feeding members of that elite force, while helping them paint a mural downtown. It was also an honor to share our homemade BBQ with Marines participating in the Dragon Boat races.
  • With your help during our first 9/11 event, we raised $4,282.00 through American Hero Cup sales. Your generous support benefited two area charities: Local 140 and the Nashville 100 club.
  • In September, the Air Force celebrated its 69th Birthday with lunch and cake served to nearby airmen. And in November, we enjoyed this privilege with the US Marines of Nashville on their 241st birthday.
  • Our “Freedom Isn’t Free” event on Veteran’s Day had an exceptional turnout. Wilbur Wright, a WWII Veteran and Metro Police Officer serving our community for 36 years, was an esteemed Guest of honor.
  • In December, our generous customers also support Toys For Tots by donating toys for children.
  • Our teammates were honored to participate in a December 17th “Wreaths Across America” ceremony, laying wreaths on headstones of veterans. Volunteers at the event received a MISSION BBQ lunch.

All in all, a great year. All of which would not be possible without our loyal customers and community. We appreciate you every day of the year.
