“Without a decisive naval force we can do nothing definitive, and with it, everything honorable and glorious.” So wrote George Washington in 1775, using his authority as commander in chief of the Army to convert a small flotilla of fishing schooners into warships. A month later, the U.S. Navy was launched.

From its humble beginnings before the birth of Our Country to its arrival today as a global force for good, the Navy has been involved with more than ten major wars and countless battles to bring security, peace and prosperity to the American people. It stands as a constant deterrent against international aggression, willingly assists those in crisis around the globe, and is always ready to fight the good fight when necessary. 242 years later, America’s Navy is the world’s premier naval power —conducting missions on all fronts at sea, on land and in the air.

Aboard ship, on bases and everywhere from the cockpits of F-18s to the control rooms of nuclear submarines, U.S. Sailors are among the most highly trained and deeply dedicated people we know. MISSION BBQ appreciates and respects you all. Thank you for your service.

Happy Birthday, U.S. Navy. Congratulations
