“It was one of the most positive things I’ve ever done in my life and the reason is I found an orphanage down the road from where I was stationed,” said Chester Smialowicz of his service in the Vietnam War. “The corpsman and I, we’d go every afternoon. We were taking care of about 1006 children with about 50 buddhist nuns and priests running it.”
