Luke Fickell received a unique and highly sentimental item from his father, a scapular that Pat Fickell had carried with him throughout his time serving in Vietnam with the Marine Corps. Luke was crushed when he realized the scapular was lost when his bag was left behind during a weekend family trip and all that was returned was the empty bag. “I can’t imagine that I missed when I obviously turned the bag upside down and inside out and some way, somehow a couple days later the scapular ends up back in the bag.” His father’s perspective is clear. “That meant he was supposed to have it,” Pat said.
