Kelly Manzolillo finds comfort in sharing her brother’s story. “The pain and the loss, it definitely comes in waves. At first it’s very dark days and sadness. Then it starts to get better. The loss is painful at first, but as you go on and you are able to share the stories, it gets easier,” Kelly said. SSG Michael Ollis was killed protecting a Polish Army officer from enemy fire while serving in Afghanistan. But, Kelly knows her brother’s sacrifice will never be forgotten, especially by the man whose life was saved that day. He named his son Michael in honor of the man who made sure he’d get home to his family.
