Making it Matter in Our First Year: North Myrtle Beach, SC

NMBIt hardly seems like a year ago that MISSION BBQ opened its North Myrtle Beach location. And yet, so much has happened in that time, it feels like a lifetime of great — and humbling — experiences.

Among the most memorable: Serving our American Heroes every day. Especially our Veterans, such as when a group of WWII Vets sang the National Anthem for us on Armed Forces Day. Or when a foundation called Quilts of Valor conducted a special ceremony in our store, presenting handmade quilts to seven of those same Veterans from “the Greatest Generation.” Our community volunteers have had the privilege to raise funds and hope for Operation Stand Down, helping veterans in need. We were also honored to participate in Wreaths Across America last December, laying memorial wreaths on the headstones of our fallen military Heroes.

In addition, we’re proud to support local Blue Star Moms (whose photos of their sons now have a special place on our walls). Also Making It Matter: with the help of Our Customers, $20,318 was raised through the American Heroes Cup program! Thank you to all for your generosity.

As the only MISSION BBQ in South Carolina — and in a popular tourist location too — we take our commitment to Service quite seriously. It is important for us to deliver every single time because we get a lot of first time customers. When we Serve and take care of them, there’s a good chance they’ll visit another one of our locations in their hometowns. And If they have a MISSION BBQ close to home, then visit us on vacation, we need to make sure they get the same great food and service.

All in all, it was a great year in a wonderfully welcoming community. We couldn’t be more proud and look forward to serving many more in the future.
