“Coming to MISSION BBQ is one of my highlights of the week and it’s all due to Donnie because I like coming in here and interacting with him every day,” said Mario. Our Customers in St. Matthews, KY look forward to seeing Donnie in the dining room. He creates connections and makes everyone feel special. “I think he enjoys working around people who served and are serving. We need more individuals like Donnie around,” added Our Customer, Rick.

“I do believe that his experience in Vietnam changed him. It changed him,” said Lisa Marie Riggins of her father Joseph Felter, Jr. “He was making a real point to communicate home what was going on in a way that it might be his last letter. It seemed like he was really going into his psyche and how this was impacting and changing him. It seems like month-by-month that he’s getting more disillusioned.” Today, Lisa Marie Riggins serves as the Executive Director of the National Capital District for the USO. She works daily to bring comfort to members of this nation’s military. “The best thing I can do for his memory is to try to keep taking care of his soldiers.”
